Structural Technician
Harrogate
An established and highly respected Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy is looking to appoint a Structural Technician to join its expanding team in Harrogate. Renowned for delivering high-quality engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of developments, the business has built an enviable reputation for technical excellence, long-term client relationships and investing in its people. As workloads continue to grow, this is an exciting opportunity to become part of a close-knit team where your contribution will be recognised, your ideas welcomed and your career genuinely supported.
Working alongside experienced Structural and Civil Engineers, you'll play a key role in producing detailed structural drawings and BIM models for projects ranging from bespoke residential developments through to schools, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, student accommodation, healthcare schemes, retail developments, distribution centres and major refurbishment projects. The variety of work means no two days are the same, giving you the opportunity to continually develop your technical skills while working on projects that make a real impact across the built environment.
Using Autodesk Revit as your primary design tool, you'll be responsible for developing accurate 3D structural models, producing detailed construction drawings and coordinating information with Engineers, Architects and the wider design team. You'll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concepts through to construction, helping to ensure designs are delivered accurately, efficiently and to the highest technical standards. Experience with AutoCAD and an understanding of BIM coordination will also be highly beneficial.
This role would suit an experienced Structural Technician with previous Consultancy experience who enjoys working collaboratively and takes pride in producing high-quality technical information. Whether you're already an accomplished Revit Technician or looking to further develop your BIM expertise, you'll be joining a business that actively encourages continuous learning, technical development and career progression.
One of the standout features of this opportunity is the working environment. Rather than being a small part of a large organisation, you'll become an integral member of a friendly, approachable team where collaboration is at the heart of everything they do. Senior Engineers and Directors remain hands-on, providing support, guidance and mentorship whenever needed, while trusting individuals with responsibility and autonomy. It's a business where people stay because they enjoy the culture, the variety of projects and the opportunity to continue developing professionally.
In return, you'll enjoy a highly competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, together with the opportunity to work on an impressive range of new build, refurbishment, alteration and extension projects for a loyal and expanding client base. If you're looking for a long-term career move where you'll be valued as part of the team and given every opportunity to develop your technical expertise, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
