We're recruiting a Maintenance Electrician to join a specialist building maintenance team covering National Trust properties across the North East and Cumbria.
It's a varied mobile role across historic and heritage buildings, covering planned maintenance, reactive repairs and minor installation work. If you want to work on buildings where the workmanship matters, these are some of the most recognisable properties in the UK.
Experience in listed or protected buildings is an advantage. So is knowledge of MICC (Mineral Insulated Copper Clad) cabling. Neither is essential.
The role
You'll work a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times. Travel is paid door to door.
The work is a mix of planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the North East and Cumbria portfolio, keeping systems safe and compliant while working within the preservation standards heritage sites demand. You'll also support basic mechanical maintenance where needed.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out PPM on electrical systems
- Diagnose faults and complete reactive electrical repairs
- Complete minor installation and remedial works
- Support colleagues with electrical and basic mechanical tasks
- Complete job reports and update the Mercury CAFM system
- Travel across the North East and Cumbria portfolio as required
What you'll need
- NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or a recognised electrical apprenticeship
- 18th Edition
- Experience of planned and reactive maintenance in commercial buildings
- Strong fault-finding skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Heritage or listed building experience is an advantage, not a requirement
- MICC cabling knowledge is a bonus
- Testing & Inspection or the 2391 is not essential but helps
