A Senior Electrician / Supervisor is required to join an established engineering team based at a major distribution and logistics site in Castle Donington.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role with at least 50% of your time spent carrying out planned and reactive maintenance. Alongside the technical work, you'll provide day-to-day support to the engineering team, help coordinate maintenance activities and act as a key point of contact for the customer.
The role offers a £46,421 total salary, plus £2,535 per year for a 1-in-4 standby rota, giving a total package of £48,956 before overtime.

The Role
You'll be responsible for delivering and supervising planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and technical maintenance across a large-scale distribution environment.
You'll be the first point of contact for maintenance issues on site, carrying out initial fault finding and repairs before arranging specialist contractor attendance where required.
Alongside being hands-on, you'll support the site management team with engineering coordination, workload planning, compliance and day-to-day team matters.
This would suit an experienced Senior Electrician, Electrical Supervisor, Senior Site Technician, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Multi Skilled Engineer who wants to take on additional responsibility while remaining hands-on.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out and supervise planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across the site.
  • Spend at least 50% of your time hands-on, completing maintenance and fault-finding tasks.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across site systems and equipment.
  • Support mechanical maintenance and have a good working knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Act as the first point of contact for maintenance issues and service requests.
  • Carry out initial investigations before arranging specialist contractor attendance where required.
  • Monitor open jobs and ensure PPM and compliance tasks are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure maintenance activity is accurately recorded on Mercury, including job updates, returning visits and certificate uploads.
  • Maintain accurate technical and compliance documentation for yourself and the wider engineering team.
  • Support the management of the site engineering rota and day-to-day allocation of work.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to other engineers on site.
  • Support the management team with day-to-day team matters where required.
  • Act as a key engineering point of contact for the 3PL/customer.
  • Attend site meetings and communicate maintenance priorities, issues and risks.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant Health & Safety legislation.
  • Monitor the quality and efficiency of repairs and maintenance.
  • Participate in the 1-in-4 standby rota.


What You'll Need

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or Maintenance, or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • AM2 and/or City & Guilds 2391.
  • Strong background in electrical maintenance within a commercial, industrial, distribution or facilities environment.
  • Proven experience carrying out PPM, reactive maintenance and electrical fault finding.
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical systems, ideally including pneumatics.
  • Previous supervisory, senior engineer or lead engineer experience would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently while providing support and direction to other engineers.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and maintenance compliance.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Comfortable using electronic maintenance systems


Experience within automated distribution, logistics or high-volume operational environments would be advantageous.
