The Opportunity
A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal or Associate Public Health Engineer to join its growing team in London.

The team works across a broad range of sectors, including commercial, residential, mission-critical, defence and secure projects, with an increasing focus on water efficiency, resilience and sustainable infrastructure.
The role also offers exposure to the evolving nature of Public Health engineering. With increasing pressure around water conservation, drainage capacity, planning requirements and on-site resilience, the discipline is expanding beyond traditional internal building services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions around water treatment, water recycling, water conservation and resilient drainage strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of Public Health engineering services across multidisciplinary projects.
- Develop initial strategic concepts and translate project briefs into appropriate engineering solutions.
- Design and review domestic water, hot and cold water, drainage and rainwater systems.
- Work closely with architects, clients and other engineering disciplines to deliver coordinated designs.
- Attend client and project meetings, acting as a technical point of contact.
- Provide technical guidance and support throughout the design process.
- Help monitor project resources, fee expenditure and programme delivery.
- Mentor and develop engineers, graduates and apprentices within the team.
- Support the development of client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat and new business.
- Contribute to increasingly complex water, drainage and resilience solutions on major developments.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience working within Public Health / Building Services engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge across water and drainage systems.

- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- The ability to provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
- A collaborative approach and the confidence to take ownership of projects.
Candidates with a broader water, drainage or infrastructure background may also be considered, particularly where their experience includes water treatment, water conservation, resilience or below-ground drainage.
Why Join?
You will join an established and growing engineering team with the opportunity to work on technically interesting projects while developing your career within a large multidisciplinary consultancy.
The business offers extensive professional development, technical training and opportunities for progression, alongside a comprehensive benefits package including:
