The Role
An exciting opportunity to join one of England's largest care home developers, supporting the design of schemes across a national portfolio from initial feasibility through to planning approval. Working closely with the in-house Land, Planning, Development Design and Technical teams, and external consultants, you'll gain hands-on exposure to a live, fast-moving development pipeline while building towards Part 3.
The Person
A Part 2 qualified architectural graduate, enthusiastic about high-quality care development, with a proactive and pragmatic approach - comfortable working on allocated tasks with support, collaborating across disciplines, and responding well to feedback. Organised and capable of managing competing deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support feasibility-stage site layouts and design solutions, responding to site constraints, surveys and planning policy.
- Produce and maintain Revit models and planning drawing packages (layouts, plans, elevations, sections, diagrams) under guidance.
- Assist in progressing allocated schemes through planning, including liaising with the in-house Planning team and responding to feedback/consultee comments.
- Support design amendments and 3D visualisation/presentation material for submissions and design reviews.
- Help coordinate with external consultants (landscape, drainage, highways, ecology, arboriculture) to optimise layouts.
- Manage personal workload across multiple projects, attend site visits, and maintain accurate records.
- Support consideration of design-related health and safety risks (CDM Regulations) and handover of approved schemes to Technical and Construction teams.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills
- Part 2 qualification in Architecture (or equivalent) from a RIBA/ARB-recognised course; some practical experience in an architectural/development design role.
- Developing knowledge of the planning application process and supporting architectural information.
- Working proficiency in Revit; working knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D visualisation/rendering software (SketchUp desirable).
- Good communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative, feedback-open approach.
- Intention to pursue Part 3 and RIBA/ARB registration.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally, subject to reasonable adjustments.
Location and Benefits
Based at Company HQ in Leeds, with site and local-authority visits as required.
Benefits include: discretionary bonus scheme (twice yearly), pension contribution, option to purchase additional annual leave, 4-weekly pay (13 pay days/year), free on-site gym, on-site café/bar.
