£37,289 Basic + £2,535 Standby + £1,500 Competency Payment | £45k-£50k+ OTE

A Mobile Electrician is required to cover a regional portfolio of retail sites across Coventry and the surrounding areas, joining an established facilities management operation.

The position involves looking after approximately 5-6 retail locations, carrying out a combination of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive electrical repairs, fault finding and general electrical maintenance.

The role offers a £37,289 basic salary, alongside a £2,535 standby payment and an additional £1,500 competency payment once the required electrical fault-finding training has been completed.

The additional training is carried out during your probation period and includes a City & Guilds certificate, providing a recognised additional qualification while also increasing your overall package.

With overtime, engineers in the role are typically earning £45,000-£50,000+, with the opportunity to increase earnings further depending on overtime worked.

The Role

As a Mobile Electrician, you'll be responsible for maintaining a small portfolio of retail sites across Coventry and nearby areas.

You'll work as part of a regional engineering team, travelling between sites to complete planned and reactive electrical maintenance and ensuring any faults are diagnosed and resolved efficiently.

This would suit an experienced Electrician, Mobile Electrician or Electrical Maintenance Engineer who is confident working independently and travelling between multiple commercial locations.

You'll liaise with site teams, clients and fellow engineers to ensure maintenance works are completed safely, professionally and within the required timescales.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive electrical work across approximately 5-6 retail sites.
• Investigate, diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
• Carry out minor electrical repairs and associated maintenance.
• Assist other engineers with larger maintenance requirements when necessary.
• Travel between retail sites throughout Coventry and the surrounding area.
• Complete work within agreed SLA and KPI requirements.
• Record completed works accurately through job sheets and maintenance reports.
• Keep the maintenance management system updated with current job information.
• Ensure tools, testing equipment and materials are properly maintained and available.
• Work in accordance with electrical regulations, health and safety requirements and company procedures.
• Maintain positive working relationships with customers, site teams and colleagues.
• Participate in a 1 in 4 standby/call-out rota.

What You'll Need

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or Maintenance, or a recognised electrical apprenticeship.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Previous experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within commercial, retail or facilities management environments.
• Experience completing both PPM and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Ability to work autonomously across multiple sites.
• Full UK driving licence.

Experience working with commercial catering or bakery equipment would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.
