Are you an experienced Maintenance Electrician looking for a permanent static role with a Monday to Friday working pattern and no daily travel between sites?
A permanent opportunity is available for a Maintenance Electrician to join an established facilities management business working on a large distribution site in Cumbernauld.
You'll work Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive electrical repairs and general building maintenance. You'll also join a 24/7 call-out rota every second week, with additional standby and call-out payments available.
The role offers a stable working environment at a single site, ongoing technical training and the opportunity to build on your electrical maintenance experience.

The Role
As a Maintenance Electrician, you'll be the first point of contact for electrical and general maintenance issues across the distribution site.
You'll complete planned and reactive maintenance, respond to service requests, fault find on electrical systems and make sure all maintenance and compliance records are kept up to date.
The site has a mixture of electrical and mechanical equipment, so the role would suit an experienced Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Facilities Maintenance Electrician with experience in commercial, industrial or facilities management environments.
You'll also work closely with site management, identifying issues that could affect operations and recommending appropriate repairs or replacement where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) within agreed timescales.
• Respond to reactive electrical faults and service requests.
• Fault find and repair single and three-phase electrical systems.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of fire alarm systems.
• Complete emergency lighting testing, maintenance and repairs.
• Carry out minor electrical alterations and installations within your level of competence.
• Maintain and repair a range of electrical and associated mechanical equipment.
• Carry out general building maintenance and repairs where required.
• Identify faults with plant and equipment that cannot be economically repaired and report recommendations for replacement.
• Complete maintenance, compliance and service documentation accurately.
• Carry out site surveys and produce reports when required.
• Liaise with site management regarding repairs that could affect site operations.
• Follow the appropriate purchasing and purchase order processes.
• Attend technical training courses where required.
• Work as part of a 24/7 call-out rota every second week.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety at all times.

What You'll Need

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or Electrical Maintenance, or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Previous experience working as a Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Facilities Maintenance Electrician.
• Strong fault-finding experience across single and three-phase electrical systems.
• Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Ability to maintain and repair a range of electrical and associated mechanical equipment.
• Good understanding of electrical maintenance and statutory compliance.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise reactive and planned work.
• AM2 and/or City & Guilds 2391 would be advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.

This role is based permanently at a large distribution facility in Cumbernauld, giving the successful Maintenance Electrician the opportunity to become familiar with the site, its equipment and its maintenance requirements rather than travelling between multiple customer locations.
