I'm currently working with an employee-owned engineering consultancy that is looking to add a CAD Technician to its growing team in Croydon.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a CAD professional with around 3-5 years' experience who is keen to work on a diverse range of civil engineering projects across the rail, bridges, structural, geotechnical and infrastructure sectors.
Joining an established engineering team, you'll play a key role in turning engineering concepts into high-quality technical drawings and models while supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
The Role
Working closely with engineers and project managers, you'll be responsible for producing accurate and detailed CAD deliverables across a varied project portfolio.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing high-quality 2D and 3D drawings and models
- Developing and updating technical designs in line with project requirements
- Collaborating with engineers to ensure designs are accurately represented
- Modifying drawings based on design reviews and project changes
- Supporting the delivery of projects to programme and budget
- Maintaining drawing registers and document control procedures
- Working within BIM and digital engineering environments
- Assisting senior technicians and project teams as required
What They're Looking For
I'm keen to speak with CAD Technicians who have:
- Around 3-5 years' experience within a civil engineering, infrastructure or consultancy environment
- Strong AutoCAD skills, with experience of Civil 3D, MicroStation or Revit being advantageous
- A good understanding of engineering drawings and design principles
- Experience working within BIM environments and awareness of ISO 19650 standards
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Candidates working towards Engineering Technician (EngTech) or Incorporated Engineer status would be viewed favourably.
Why Apply?
What stands out about this opportunity is the chance to join a growing consultancy where your contribution will genuinely make an impact.
You'll gain exposure to a wide range of technically challenging projects while working alongside experienced engineers and technicians. The business encourages professional development and offers the opportunity to broaden your skills beyond pure CAD production, giving you exposure to project delivery, client-focused engineering and the wider business.
As an employee-owned organisation, everyone shares in the success of the company, creating a collaborative environment where people are invested in long-term growth and development.
