You'll work alongside an experienced team of Building Surveyors, gaining exposure to a broad range of professional and project-related work, with the opportunity to develop your technical skills and progress towards chartership.
The Role
You'll be involved in delivering a varied workload across both professional and project-based building surveying, working with clients and colleagues to ensure projects are delivered effectively and to a high standard.
Responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out building surveys, inspections and site investigations.
- Identifying building defects, analysing their causes and preparing technical reports.
- Assisting with the preparation of specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
- Supporting the design and delivery of refurbishment, repair and maintenance projects.
- Assisting with contract administration and site supervision.
- Preparing schedules of dilapidations and supporting negotiations on settlements.
- Advising clients on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of buildings.
- Supporting planned maintenance programmes and preparing cost estimates.
- Working alongside other disciplines on larger, more complex projects.
- Maintaining effective communication with clients, contractors, consultants and colleagues.
- Producing accurate reports and project documentation to the required standard.
- Representing the business professionally and helping to develop client relationships.
About You
You'll be a motivated and organised Building Surveyor looking to develop your career within a supportive consultancy environment.
Ideally, you'll have:
- A relevant degree in Building Surveying, preferably RICS accredited.
- A genuine interest in developing your technical knowledge and progressing towards chartership.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with knowledge of AutoCAD, NBS and other surveying software beneficial.
- The ability to work independently when required, while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- A professional and personable approach to dealing with clients.
- A full UK driving licence.
Career Development
The business is committed to supporting the development of its Building Surveyors, with structured support towards becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor through the national APC process and guidance from the local team.
You'll gain exposure to a wide range of projects, work alongside experienced professionals and have the opportunity to build the technical and client-facing skills needed to progress your career.
