Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Chester, Cheshire West
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000

An established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Chester team. With a strong pipeline of work and ambitious growth plans, this is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects, work closely with clients and contribute to the continued development of a growing engineering business.

The consultancy delivers projects across the UK, covering residential developments, high-rise buildings, student accommodation, commercial offices, retail, industrial facilities and large-scale warehouse and logistics schemes.

The Role

• Lead structural design projects from concept through to construction.

• Undertake and check structural calculations, designs, reports and technical specifications.

• Develop practical, cost-effective structural solutions across a range of building types.

• Coordinate with architects, contractors, clients and other engineering disciplines.

• Oversee project delivery, ensuring technical quality and programme requirements are met.

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

• Support client relationships and contribute to the ongoing growth of the team.

About You

• Around 3-5 years' structural design experience within a building consultancy, or equivalent experience.

• Strong technical knowledge of structural design principles and construction methods.

• Experience delivering projects independently and managing competing priorities.

• Confident communicating with clients and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving, design quality and project delivery.

• Keen to take on greater responsibility and develop within a growing consultancy.
