Electrical Design Engineer
Carlisle
Salary: £24,000 to £30,000
Job Ref: #34930We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a Chartered Building Services Consultancy based in Carlisle. They are open to applications from Junior to Engineer level Electrical Engineers - whether you've spent time on the tools as an Electrician and are looking to move into design, or you already hold a HNC or degree in Electrical Engineering and want to develop your career in Building Services Design.
You'll be working on a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects, primarily across the North West of England - particularly in and around Carlisle, Lancaster, and Preston. Sectors include Education, Residential, Healthcare, Industrial, Defence, and Commercial. You'll gain great experience on projects such as hospitals, student accommodation, university buildings, council developments, and more.
Working alongside Senior Engineers and a very experienced Associate, you'll be fully supported in your development and progression within the Building Services sector.
Ideally, you'll hold ONC/HNC qualifications as a minimum or a Degree in Building Services or Electrical Engineering. Most importantly, you'll be enthusiastic about electrical design, low-carbon technologies, and helping to shape smarter, more efficient buildings. A passion for sustainable solutions and Net Zero strategy would be a real advantage.
You'll be trained in the use of software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, and Dialux/Relux. Prior knowledge of AutoCAD or lighting design tools would be helpful, but not essential.
