Scaffolding and Shoring Project Engineer

Their employees tackle the daily challenges around the construction process together with contractors, tradesmen, scaffolders and architects and now due to further workload, they are looking to bring in a Project Engineer with Scaffolding and Shoring experience to their growing Leeds Office..

In this role you will design scaffold and shoring systems and providing engineering support for minor and major scaffold projects across the UK; specifically supporting advanced and special solutions working both independently and as a member of a team. As well as aassisting the Special Solution Team and the National Engineering Manager in maintaining/producing high design standards and special solutions in the engineering performance of the business, you will support the SST Senior Engineers to complete advanced and special solutions and support complex projects and deal with the interface between the technical offices, the customers and logistics

You will provide innovative solutions and contribute to product development on scaffold and shoring applications and support tender development and delivery and then be able to plan, track project progress and keep costs under control. Other duties include maintaining programme schedules, reporting on project status, checking and approving other team members' designs and providing resolutions for technical/engineering or cost control problems

Working closely with the National Engineering Manager and other Project Engineers to ensure consistent, efficient working practices, you will develop relationships with Sales Engineers and customers to promote efficient use of technical resource and liaise with both internal and external technical departments to add value plus/optimization ideas. You will supervise and coordinate assigned engineering section activities and operations within assigned engineering section

They are looking for an analytical individual with sound engineering understanding and experience of Frame Analysis programs in relation to scaffold designs. Experience in a similar role, working with all aspects of Scaffold and Shoring designs and designing with Eurocodes / BS's would be beneficial, as would planning and project management skills and tender development skills. Working with Eurocodes and BS's and NASC Technical Guidance, experience with 3D structural frame analysis software used for designing and analysing beam, frame, and truss structures is required as is CDM 2015 knowledge.

A full UK drivers license is required for this role as the role requires some travel to visit the site to deal with site issues or safety critical items
