Description

We are currently working with a national multidisciplinary consultancy as they look to add a Principal or Associate Façade Engineer to their division in London, located close to London Bridge. You will be joining a team of twelve that is diverse and growing with an impressive array of projects on their slate. Clients include banking institutions and large scale property developers.

The consultancy's engineers work as part of a design team from the concept stage, or on a specific individual basis to bring high-level technical expertise to any project.

They analyse the performance value of different façade designs considering the technical and environmental behaviour of customised and bespoke innovative solutions.

Their approach addresses the key issues in building design - structural, energy efficiency, internal climate control, resilience (blast) and advanced construction techniques. This is based on advanced analysis and research and development programmes working directly with manufacturers and universities.

The team offers a broad horizon of services including:

  • Façade structural design
  • Façade inspection and refurbishment
  • Portfolio reviews where environmental performance and durability are considered
  • Value engineering
  • Environmental performance of building facades
  • Thermal Analysis 2D and 3D modelling
  • Parametric modelling
  • Wind analysis
  • Solar shading design
  • Blast engineering
  • Factory and on-site testing
  • Expert witness
  • Regent Street Disease
  • Technical Due Diligence Surveys
  • Site monitoring of facade installations
  • Condensation risk analysis (static state)
  • Witnessing test (CWCT)

Over recent history, they have worked on projects including

  • 80 Strand, London
  • The Bronze, London
  • Royal College of Surgeons, London
  • Debenham House, London

To be successful in this role, you will be degree educated in either civil engineering or architecture and have significant industry experience in a Façade Engineering position which has involved an element of leadership, resource allocation, client-facing responsibilities etc. Regardless of your skill-set, whether it's more focused on design, drawings or forensic analysis, I will be really interested to discuss this opportunity with you. You will ideally be a member or associate member of the Society of Façade Engineering.

Company benefits include the 25 days of holiday + the option to purchase an additional five, flexible working arrangements, high value and reputable projects, paid professional subscriptions, regular internal CPD events, as well as an employee assistance programme and personal accident insurance.

This is a unique opportunity that is not to be missed. If you think your experience matches up well, please click apply or reach out to Jamie Will at Calibre Search.
