Job Ref: 40151
We are for a Senior E&P Design Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy delivering major Rail and Infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer with Rail sector knowledge to join a well-established technical team working on complex and high-profile transport infrastructure schemes. Due to continued growth within their Rail division, they are looking to strengthen their Electrical & Power capability with the addition of a Senior Engineer.
Projects include a mix of:
- Rail Electrification & Power (E&P) systems
- Railway lineside electrical systems
- Points heating and signalling power supplies
- Level crossings and LV distribution systems
- Station and depot M&E infrastructure
- Lighting, containment, earthing, small power, and fire alarm systems
- Rail refurbishment and enhancement schemes
Responsibilities will include:
- Producing Electrical and E&P designs for Rail infrastructure projects
- Supporting CREs and Lead Engineers in delivering compliant engineering solutions
- Ensuring designs meet client standards, industry regulations, and project requirements
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams across Civil, Structural, and M&E disciplines
- Planning and managing allocated design workloads to meet programme deadlines
- Identifying technical changes and supporting design reviews throughout project delivery
- Supporting technical documentation, calculations, specifications, and reports
- Attending client, design, and project meetings where required
The role would suit someone with experience delivering Electrical or Building Services design within Rail, Infrastructure, or other technically complex environments. Experience with railway lineside systems or transport infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.
Applicants should ideally have experience with:
- Electrical design within Rail, Infrastructure, or Building Services environments
- Rail systems including points heating, signalling power, LV distribution, or station/depot infrastructure
- Design software such as Trimble ProDesign, Electrical OM, Microstation, Dialux, or Relux
- Multi-disciplinary project coordination
- UK Rail standards, CDM regulations, and design compliance processes
Experience working within Network Rail standards, BIM environments, or ProjectWise would also be beneficial.
If you are looking to progress your career within the Rail and Infrastructure sector while working on technically challenging E&P projects, please get in touch for further information.
