Structural Revit Technician
West Yorkshire
Good Revit Technicians are hard to come by, and if you're someone who enjoys taking ownership of your models rather than simply producing drawings all day, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
This is a chance to join an established independent Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy that has been delivering building structures projects for over 40 years. The business has grown steadily through repeat clients and recommendations rather than rapid expansion, creating a stable workload across residential, commercial, retail and industrial developments. It's a close-knit team where technicians are trusted, listened to and involved throughout the design process, not just handed mark-ups to work through.
The role will see you producing coordinated 3D structural models in Revit from concept through to construction, working alongside Structural Engineers to develop practical, buildable solutions. You'll be involved in everything from creating detailed construction drawings and coordinating information with architects through to checking models, maintaining BIM standards and helping improve the way projects are delivered across the office.
This isn't a role where you'll become pigeonholed into one type of project either. One week you could be working on a commercial development, the next an industrial scheme or residential project, giving you plenty of variety and the chance to broaden your experience across different forms of construction.
They're looking for someone who has built a solid career within structural engineering and is comfortable using both Revit and AutoCAD in a consultancy environment. You'll ideally have around five years' experience, be confident modelling structures in steel, reinforced concrete and masonry, and understand how projects are put together from an engineering perspective rather than simply producing drawings. If you've mentored junior technicians before or would like the opportunity to do so, that's something the team would actively encourage.
Beyond project work, you'll also have the opportunity to influence BIM standards and processes as the business continues to develop its digital delivery, giving you the chance to make a genuine impact rather than simply following established procedures.
If you're looking for a consultancy where you'll know everyone by name, work closely with experienced engineers and be trusted to take ownership of your work, this is well worth exploring.
