The Opportunity

An established and growing engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to join its civil engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineer with a strong background in residential development, particularly those who have worked directly with house builders and high-volume residential schemes.

The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work closely with clients and house builders, and contribute to the delivery of technically challenging residential developments across the North of England.

The Role

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be involved in:

• Civil engineering design for residential developments.
• Working with house builders on high-volume housing schemes.
• Infrastructure design for developments ranging from smaller schemes through to larger multi-plot sites.
• Highways and drainage design.
• Surface water and foul drainage design.
• Earthworks and site-wide levels.
• Preparing technical reports, drawings and design information.
• Supporting projects from pre-planning and feasibility through to detailed design.
• Liaising with clients, house builders, local authorities and other consultants.
• Reviewing designs and providing technical input to project teams.
• Managing your own workload and contributing to the development of less experienced engineers.
• Supporting the continued growth of the civil engineering team.

About You

We are looking for a Civil Engineer with:

• Strong experience within a civil engineering consultancy.
• Proven experience delivering residential development projects.
• Experience working with house builders and/or developers.
• Experience of high-volume residential schemes and larger multi-plot developments.
• Strong technical knowledge of highways, drainage and infrastructure design.
• The ability to work independently and take responsibility for design packages.
• Good communication and client-facing skills.
• A commercially aware and proactive approach.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Experience with Civil 3D, Causeway, Causeflow and/or InfraDrainage would be advantageous.
