The opportunity would suit a Structural Engineer at approximately 5 years' post-graduate experience through to Associate level, including engineers who are approaching Chartered status, as well as those already Chartered.
This is a particularly interesting role for someone who enjoys investigation and problem-solving and wants to work on a varied portfolio of existing structures rather than focusing solely on new-build design.

- Producing detailed structural inspection reports.
- Carrying out structural risk assessments.
- Assessing High-Risk Buildings (HRBs).
- Undertaking commercial and residential condition surveys.
- Investigating structural defects, damage and failures.
- Preparing technical reports and recommendations for remedial works.
- Carrying out inspections and reporting for insurance-related claims.
- Investigating issues including retaining wall failures, wind damage, fire damage and vehicle impact damage.
- Liaising with clients, insurers, contractors and other professional consultants.
- Providing clear technical advice based on site findings and engineering assessment.
- Supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers where appropriate.
About You
We are looking for a Structural Engineer with:
- Around 5+ years' relevant post-graduate experience, through to Associate level.
- Experience within a structural engineering consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of structural inspection and assessment.
- Experience producing structural reports and technical documentation.
- Good understanding of existing buildings and structural behaviour.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently on inspections and reports.
- Chartered status or close to achieving Chartered status would be advantageous.
- A professional and confident approach when dealing with clients and other stakeholders.
Experience in building surveys, structural defects, insurance inspections, structural investigations or existing building assessments would be particularly relevant.
What's on Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Principal / Associate-level career opportunities.
- The opportunity to work on a highly varied portfolio of existing buildings and structures.
- Exposure to structural investigations, risk assessments and insurance-related work.
- Excellent opportunities for professional development and progression.
- A technically focused and collaborative working environment.
- The opportunity to develop further into a senior technical and client-facing position.
