The Opportunity

An established and highly regarded structural engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer with 2-5 years' experience to join its Manchester team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being hands-on with calculations and design and is looking to develop their technical skills across a varied portfolio of projects.

You will work closely with experienced senior engineers and directors, taking responsibility for structural design work and producing detailed calculation packages across residential and high-rise developments.

The Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Undertaking structural calculations and design work.

• Producing detailed structural calculation packages.

• Developing practical and efficient structural solutions.

• Working on residential and high-rise building projects.

• Designing structures in steel and reinforced concrete.

• Producing and developing structural models.

• Working with Revit and Tekla Structures.

• Liaising with senior engineers, architects and other members of the project team.

• Supporting projects from concept through to detailed design.

• Reviewing and developing designs in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.

• Taking increasing responsibility for your own project workload as your experience develops.

About You

We are looking for a Structural Engineer with:

• 2-5 years' relevant structural engineering experience.

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Experience working within a structural engineering consultancy.

• Strong understanding of structural design principles.

• Experience with structural calculations and design.

• Exposure to steel and reinforced concrete structures.

• Ideally, experience working on residential and/or high-rise projects.

• Experience with Revit and/or Tekla Structures.

• Good technical and analytical skills.

• A proactive approach and willingness to develop.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

The role would suit an engineer who is working towards Chartered status and wants to develop their technical experience within an experienced structural engineering environment.
