Up to £42,000 Basic Salary

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join a well-established engineering team supporting a high-profile client site in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician looking for a varied role, working across a range of electrical and building services systems within a professional and technically demanding environment.

The Opportunity

As a Maintenance Electrician, you'll play a key role in ensuring the client's building, plant and electrical systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

You'll be responsible for a combination of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding and small installation works, while working closely with colleagues, clients and specialist contractors.

This is a varied position offering the opportunity to work on a broad range of building services and develop your technical expertise within a supportive engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across electrical and building services systems.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and diagnose and resolve electrical faults.
• Maintain electrical systems in line with agreed service levels and maintenance schedules.
• Complete PPM tasks in accordance with the site's maintenance regime.
• Identify, record and report defects, ensuring issues are followed through to resolution.
• Maintain accurate engineering records, site logs and equipment reports.
• Liaise with specialist subcontractors and monitor the quality of their work.
• Complete and sign off maintenance activities using digital maintenance systems.
• Work closely with other trade engineers to resolve electrical and building services issues.
• Support small installation and improvement works where required.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety procedures.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.
• Participate in an on-call/call-out rota where required.
• Maintain and develop your technical knowledge through ongoing training and professional development.

About You

We're looking for an electrician who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving and is confident working independently while delivering excellent customer service.

You'll ideally have:

• A recognised Electrical Engineering qualification.
• 18th Edition Electrical Installation qualification.
• Testing & Inspection qualification.
• Previous experience working within a structured PPM environment.
• Good knowledge of electrical building services and associated systems.
• Experience working with business-critical equipment or environments.
• Knowledge of emergency lighting, fire alarms, power distribution and BMS.
• Experience working within a strong health & safety environment.
• Good understanding of engineering paperwork and maintenance records.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
• A reliable, proactive approach with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• A strong team-player mentality.
