Steel Tekla Detailer / Technician

Salary: £30,000-£40,000 per annum

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Steel Tekla Detailer / Technician to join an established, specialist structural steel detailing and design business.

The company provides precision steel detailing, 3D modelling and structural design services to clients across the construction and steel fabrication sectors. Working on a variety of projects, the team combines technical expertise with modern modelling technology to deliver accurate, practical and efficient solutions.

The Role

As a Steel Tekla Detailer / Technician, you will be responsible for producing accurate 3D models and detailed drawings for structural steelwork projects, supporting the process from initial design through to fabrication and installation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing detailed 3D structural steel models using Tekla Structures.

• Preparing general arrangement, fabrication and erection drawings.

• Detailing steelwork accurately in line with engineering information and project specifications.

• Interpreting architectural and structural engineering drawings.

• Coordinating detailing information and resolving technical queries where required.

• Working closely with colleagues, engineers and other project stakeholders to ensure designs are accurate and practical.

• Maintaining high standards of drawing quality, accuracy and consistency.

• Helping ensure projects are delivered to agreed deadlines.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in structural steel detailing.

• Good working knowledge of Tekla Structures.

• Experience producing steel fabrication and general arrangement drawings.

• The ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings.

• A good understanding of steelwork detailing principles and fabrication requirements.

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Experience across a range of structural steel projects would be advantageous.

• £30,000-£40,000 salary, depending on experience.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am-5:30pm.

• Lunch break: 12:30pm-1:30pm.

• Friday: 8:00am-12:30pm.
